ありがと For this Tokyo Experience!!!

For those of you who can't read ありがと, this means "Arigato" or thank you! Which expresses my sincere appreciation for Kura Revolving Sushi Bar.

Yes, I said, "REVOLVING!" 

Have you ever been to Japan? Well I have not, but 30 seconds into this restaurant and I felt like I was dining in Tokyo.

No joke!

Kura Revolving Sushi Bar offers dozens of different types of sushi starting at a crazy $2.75 per dish!

I was so impressed and tried so many creations.

Some were traditional and some were courageously new, but all were very tantalizing!

The technology of this restaurant starts when you input your name and information on their iPad looking device outside the restaurant.

I was number 13 out of 20 parties waiting for a seat on a Saturday afternoon. Yikes!

After being seated in our booth, I was enthralled with our iPad looking menu, I had forgotten all about the wait time.

It is so fun to order your food on a touch screen device and within 5 minutes or less, your order comes swiftly down a conveyor belt and "Voila!" freshly made sushi at your chopsticks.

Here are some of the dishes that I happily devoured.

Salmon and crab with avocado.

Sake or raw salmon sushi

 And the "Pick This Yummy" winner goes to... SESAME Ball Donuts with a red bean paste center!!! A must-have if your planning to visit. Hint: it's in the dessert menu.

During your meal, Japanese anime will play periodically as the number of your orders increases.

When you reach the champion amount of sushi dishes ordered, a plastic ball will be released from a machine above the revolving sushi bar & you get to take home a souvenir. 

I've won one before, but not this recent visit. Oh well! I'll be back!

Vitamin DELISH! Hey I sure did when I was flying on cloud nine with this chipotle orange salad from Rubio's! I cannot express in words how much flavor is packed into this dish. It simply blows my mind.

The textures, the seasoning, and the portion is like, "Hallelujah!" I seriously get transported.

This is how I feel when I know I'm eating healthy and my taste buds are singing!

This salad is a value at $7.99 and has this option. For $1.00 more you may choose to add a protein of grilled chicken, steak, or fish. However, it tastes awesome with no protein as shown here!

Rubio's also gets a thumbs up for their fish tacos & their salsa bar! Super swanky!

Baby it's Cold Outside!

Brrrrrr! The weather's been mighty chilly lately.

This is due to a cold front that's been passing through the Bay Area. I am taking a spin/core strengthening class at De Anza that requires me to leave my house at 6:00 am when it's around 48 degrees. For lunch I decided to treat myself to a hot bowl of vegetarian soup & I was so satisfied I had to share it!

This week's yummy pick is from Boudin SF Bakery located at 20682 Stevens Creek Blvd  Cupertino, CA 95014.

Order this Butternut Squash Soup with toasted walnuts and plump, delicious cranberries.

Boudin's is known for their sourdough bread creations & this quote sums up the aroma that pulls you in right when you open the door!

"Hot Chocolate Waffles! Get your Hot Chocolate Waffles!!"

Some combinations are simply made for each other. Peanut butter and jelly, french fries and ketchup, and then there are outrageous combinations that make you say "H'mmmmmmm... Aww Yesss! Bring me some more!!" This is one of those combos. This is Tea Lyfe's Hot Chocolate Waffle served with toasted marshmallows, dark chocolate garnish, and Saigon cinnamon flavored whip cream. Whew! This dish aims to please and doesn't fail in it's creative nuances.
